The Great Food Trip and team #BrenDrew… here’s what you need to know!

Team #BrenDrew share their goodbyes & discuss The Great Food Trip after leaving the #MKRSA kitchen.

South Africa’s Good Things Guy Brent Lindeque and one of MKRSA’s most talented contestants Andrew Ross have left the show on a high note and are ready for a spectacular 2018.

Brent & Andrew were the first and only team to score a 10 out of 10… twice! The team scored a perfect 10 for their Cheesecake in the instant restaurant round and then again for their Chocolate Fondant in the semi finals. They also went on to cook up a storm serving incredible dishes throughout the first season of the show.

The new hit South African show officially launched on the 13 August 2017 and quickly became the cooking show of the year! There was good food, drama and a mash up of uniquely South African contestants.

But now that the modern family duo are out of the competition, they are ready for their next adventure… and for that adventure, the #BrenDrew team will be taking on the Great Food Trip.

We are passionate about GREAT FOOD. You are invited on our Food Journey around South Africa as we uncover ridiculously good restaurants, fantastic finger food and culinary experiences of the awesome kind!

We discovered a passion for the stories behind great food on our recent journey as contestants on a South African cooking competition. We discovered there are always amazing stories and talented people in the kitchens of some of our favourite restaurants.

We want to use this space to explore great eating experiences, share some of our favourite recipes, and let you know where we will be popping-up next – soon to appear in a town near you!

The Great Food Trip will take the duo on a journey visiting South Africa’s hidden food gems (voted by you) while meeting interesting people along the way.

Before Brent Lindeque joined the Cliffcentral team or launched GoodThingsGuy.com, an online Good News site currently seeing over 2 million visitors a month. The young South African did something. What started as a simple idea to try and better one persons day, turned into a global event carried out by millions of people. The ‘RAK initiative’ was all about giving back & helping those in need.

Lindeque saw himself becoming a LeadSA Hero, was selected as one of Africa’s most promising Entrepreneurs and also chosen as one of the prestigious Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans.

“I had the most amazing adventure on MKRSA. It was an unbelievable experience. So incredibly thankful to have been part of the first amazing season. A competition like this brought together two of my favourite things… people and food and ignited a whole new pathway for another great adventure” says Lindeque

Andrew Ross is a born entrepreneur, an inspirational thought leader, MD of 2 marketing agencies and works around the world with his global client base in the fields of sponsorship’s, brand activation, experiential marketing and social media. Having worked in the performing arts in musical theatre, TV and Radio in his youth, Ross has a loud mouth, a razor sharp wit and of course plenty of opinions.

“I’ve really had an absolute blast, met some awesome people and really can’t wait for the next chapter of our food journey. I’ve always wanted to go on a great South African RoadTrip, travelling around the country exploring restaurants and meeting the people behind the food, and I think that may just be our first project of 2018. Watch this space! ”, concludes Ross.
